A little bit about me:
Everything in my life has always been centered around family. I had the privilege of being raised in a large family. An experience so positive, my wife and I repeated it and had six children of our own.
My favorite childhood memories included hiking, fishing, swimming, camping, having picnics, and playing sports. During these activities and throughout daily life, my parents emphasized the importance of love, compassion, integrity, and a strong work ethic both professionally and personally. Boy Scouts seemed a perfect fit for me. In time, I became an Eagle Scout, and it’s one of my accomplishments I’m most proud of.
As a teenager, I entered the work force and started my first business of sorts. At first, I had a paper route only, but in time the customers began hiring me to complete other home chores and repairs. I loved the people and the happiness it brought them to see all the things on their chore list crossed off. I could hear my father’s words, “Son, the only job worth doing is a job well done!”. Applying his wise words, my schedule became full!
Next, I began learning carpentry with my grandfather. He was a master carpenter and a mentor to me. This is where it all just clicked. The time spent with my grandfather unlocked my love for building. It was shortly thereafter Southwestern Roofing was born.
It’s been over 40 years now, and I still can’t wait for the next customer project. Collaborating with people to help turn their dreams into reality is the most exciting aspect of homeowner services. I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you allowing me to be part of that. In closing, I would like to thank you all for allowing me to be a party of your dreams and welcoming me into that place you call home.
Sincerely,
Vincent Place
On June 10, 1958, I was born in this little town down the way…called Houston. I attended Sam Houston High School, Houston Community College, and North Harris County College.
My wife and I have 5 grown children and now our 7th Grandbaby on the way. Of course, if we had known how much fun the grandkids would be…we would have had them first…right?
Having lived in Houston all my life, I have seen it grow in ways I could have never imagined. As a kid around 1970, I was dropped off in different neighborhoods around Houston after school where I would go door-to-door getting subscriptions for the Houston Post Newspaper. That certainly familiarized me with the city and the suburbs.
After years in the corporate electronic security arena (ADT Commercial, Tyco Integrated Security and Johnson Controls), I earned my Real Estate License. Today, in my representation of Southwestern Roofing, I can capitalize on the portfolio of products and services that we provide by helping other Real Estate Agents with their properties (buying and selling). My construction and Real Estate experience and education are beneficial in helping all my customers to satisfy their specific needs.
I sing in my Choir at Westway Baptist Church, and I am a certified Coach for Texas Special Olympics. I have a Son, Zachary, that is an SOTX athlete and he is seen most everywhere I go.
He loves to visit with homeowners while I inspect their roof.
We would love to help you in your “home needs” …whatever it is. If we do not have an inhouse department that supports your need, we will help you secure someone that can.
